My next journey took me to the Korean martial art of Tang So Doo. I haven’t done a belt system since my after school days when I was a kid in kindergarten. I didn’t reach far since it was only an after school program in the gymnasium. My friend Master Joe Fitzgerald of Fitzgerald’s martial arts is the head Tang So Doo instructor. Tang So Doo is Korea’s version of the Japanese martial art of Karate. When Karate made its way to Korea, it was modified to the Korean culture. Tang So Do has solid stances, focusing on power strikes which include punches, kicks and some locks. Like my previous episodes, I will cross train and learn how Tang So Do defends against punches, kicks and takedowns.
